Posted by Yvonne on Last Friday, a reader alerted us on Twitter that Netflix's new show One Day at a Time had name-dropped Autostraddle. After collectively jumping around screaming because ohmygod we're a cultural reference on TV, we were off to the races to find out what gayness lay ahead in this multi-cam family sitcom.

I really enjoyed it and it pleasantly surprised by the story lines.
It was pretty heavy for a sitcom.
Just finished watching the first season and I've loved it!
Glad you liked it! I'm digging it, myself.
If you enjoyed this show as a sitcom you may also want to try out some of the ABC sitcoms of today. Such as Blackish, Speechless, The Goldbergs, Fresh off the Boat, Dr. Ken, and the Real O'Neills.
All of these shows exist well within the regular sitcom format, but they portray a variety of American families.
Might have to check this out. Good sitcoms are so hard to find.
This looks fun. I think I remember the original on reruns when I was a kid and liked it then. 😊
I've watched three episodes of this so far and it is surprisingly fun. I don't think I've ever enjoyed a sitcom before.
