Dakota Access Pipeline: Police remove protesters
At least 117 protesters were arrested after law enforcement Humvees and helicopters began to flood the area to break up a protester encampment near the pipeline's path. Calling themselves "water protectors," supporters of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe set up tents and teepees on the land, about an hour south of Bismarck, which they said belongs to the tribe under a 19-century treaty.

I'm just going to copy/paste what Robert Reich said:
But the Oregon protesters were also removed by force, and one of them was shot and killed in the process.
I agree that the police response was not proportional, but comparing the result of a court case long after the incident to police actions during the incident are a false equivalence.
I sincerely hope that more level heads prevail and any charges against the protesters are dropped.
