This State Is Considering Sending Cops To Homes To Verify Voter Registration

New Hampshire lawmakers are considering legislation that would allow counties to send police to residents' homes to verify the address they use when they register to vote. The provision is part of a bill designed to check the registration of voters who enroll to vote on election day or within 30 days of it.

So they are going to pass a bill that will send state police to someones house if they register to vote close to the election all because Trump claimed with no proof what so ever there is voter fraud in the state? That sounds like a massive waste of money and a great way to intimidate anyone who registers to vote at or close to election day.

What would that conversation even be??

"Excuse me sir/madame, did you recently register to participate in our completely free and open democracy? Yes? Have a nice day!"

      What is even the point??

Its more "If you register to vote close to the election you may be visited by the police with the possibility of a $5,000 fine are you sure you really want to register to vote in this election?" It just seems more like intimidation then anything.

It's funny because I literally just moved to NH, and I didn't have the documentation to proved residency in time to register for upcoming local elections so I'm going to be registering same-day. (Obviously I won't be subject to this bill, but still, getting the required paperwork takes time, among other things, and I have all the privileges, easy transportation & free time imaginable)

God, the Huffington Post is such a crock. "This state." YOU MEAN NEW HAMPSHIRE WRITE IT ON THE HEADLINE. It's transparently a trick to make people click and it's gross.
