Shooting of black teen in Dallas suburb did not meet 'our core values,' police chief says

Police have retracted earlier accounts that a vehicle was reversing toward officers in an "aggressive manner" when one of the officers opened fire, striking and killing 15-year-old Jordan Edwards in a Dallas-area suburb Saturday night.

Shooting kids who aren't doing anything wrong doesn't meet core values? Say it aint so!

Gee, why on earth would people of color be wary of the police?

How low can we put the bar for 'core values'? Because right now he's not even saying it's against the core values, he says he doesn't think it meets the core values.

And of course, the comments I saw yesterday were all, "Where are the pictures of him at 15? Because you know he looks like a thug now." Except... he doesn't. Because he's not. Unless you think all black people are 'thugs'. In which case, fuck you. This is a 15 year old kid. He's my son's age. He was doing the same things my son does. Only, because my son is white, I don't worry about him doing something dangerous like existing in his skin.
