It seems likely that the larger retailers will be jumping in with solid pre-order offerings and pricing for the Nintendo Switch at the end of this week, but Nikkei has weighed in with a report on the Japanese price - 25,000 Yen.

Updated: Nikkei did not make any statement about the price point of the Nintendo Switch.

In the wake of excitement for the upcoming reveal of Nintendo Switch's price several websites misinterpreted an article on the online arm of the Nikkei Shinbun, which actually made no claims to know the console's price point.

$250 seems underpriced to me, but if they're aiming at people buying more than one (because of mobile capability), or trying to recover a little market share from sins past (the Wii U and 3DS we initially overpriced), then I suppose it makes sense.
Most other console manufacturers tend to launch at a loss, making it up later in software and eventually in volume. Nintendo hasn't taken that tack in a while. Maybe it's time?
