This Could Be a NEW Nintendo

This Could Be a NEW Nintendo

Reception of the Nintendo Switch Presentation has been mixed, and many questions still need answering... But I believe that something in Nintendo has changed for the better. Ok... Arlo and I are pretty much of the same mindset on the Switch and the state of Nintendo, with one caveat: He says he never has a need for motion control outside of VR ever again... and that's just it, the Switch just might be the VR system we've always wanted if they can get the 3rd party support.

I mean, think about it, it has the motion controls already. It's the easiest Nintendo to develop for since the SNES, and it's powered by an Nvidia chipset (albeit a different one from standard), which is already pretty much a requirement for most VR platforms.

Add to that standardized USB-C expandability and you're pretty much a peripheral headset or even a dock/headset away from a potentially awesome VR setup.

I'm anti-VR. So I will just add one bit:

He says he never has a need for motion control outside of VR ever again

I am very interested to try out gyroscopic aiming in BotW, and maybe Splatoon 2. It sounds like it works very well so I'm interested.

Alas, 720p is not good enough for VR

But USB-C means it doesn't have to use the tablet screen. That's just an option.
