Journey to the Center of the Galaxy!
What's your favorite aspect of No Man's Sky?
A lot of noise has been made about what people dislike in No Man's Sky, but let's focus on the positive. What do you love about the game?

I still get a thrill from the exploration aspect. Gliding into the atmosphere, seeing the ground beneath you generate with the landscape structures. Landing near something that looks interesting and then exploring a large patch by foot.
I still get goosebumps when I look to the horizon and see a moon or another planet, just begging for you to fly to it.
The sound design, soundtrack and art style work really well and make a cohesive whole of the universe. I love the base game and am super excited to see what kind of tricks and secrets Hello Games has up their sleeves.
Hmm. I haven't looked into the Alien Linguistics to much... maybe I should.
It definitely makes figuring out what aliens want when you first meet them a lot easier, so more often than not, you make the right choice, your standing increases, and they give you stuff!
Free Stuff is a must!
I really enjoyed the sound and aesthetics of the game. Obviously it has super frustrating shortfalls, but what I did like was fantastic. The perfect example (from the popular Angry Joe video) was that the opening hour or so of the game was totally unlike anything I've ever experienced. Seriously, not knowing anything and feeling actually remote and stranded was exhilarating. All I wanted to do was explore more.
I'm with you on the first hour of the game. It was truly exhilarating! I thought I was going to screw up and die at any given moment, so when I finally managed to blast off of that rock with my ship all fixed up, I actually jumped in the air and shouted, "YES! IT WORKED!!!"
I think I scared my downstairs neighbor...
I love discovering new planets and ecosystems. Sadly after a few dozen planets only a handful have been truly different from the others. I'm in the process of maximizing my ship and hope to be able to install the warp engine upgrades to see if the planets around the green or red stars.
Nope, Not interested 'Wide as an ocean, Deep as a puddle' has been my experiance. Look forward to when the game drops in price and has a Few DLC packs to make use of the large universe to blow some peoples minds, pretty much like 'Destiny' did for some.
There is an amazing coatrack in this game but the coats are Really either not there or dull.
Yep, that's been my experience, too.
It's super frustrating that they went to all this trouble to make a system that can generate so many unique planets, then they went and populated them all with the exact same stuff. Outposts, ruins, abandoned buildings... always the same, always evenly distributed. The resources -- never a long walk to get to whatever you need. Here I am an "explorer" and yet every planet has literally hundreds of facilities and galactic trade network access already?
I get why they did all this, but I wish they'd figured out a way to make each place it's own little puzzle. "Neat planet. Now let's figure out how to refuel here." Instead it's "neat planet, now I'll do the same thing I've done on every other planet."
And really, 16 quadrillion planets? I'd much rather have had 16 billion that were several orders of magnitude more different from one another. Or hell, don't even bother making it that big since you never see other players anyway. Just give me 500 planets that are REALLY different.
I collected my platinum trophy last night. Since I finished pretty much everything there is to do for now, I am moving on. Just started Deus Ex: Mankind Divided.
WOW! Congrats on getting your Platinum! Downloading DE:MD right now. Should be an incredible game.
