Popular bar in Brooklyn raises drinking age to 25 because young people are 'too annoying'
A popular bar on Columbia Street in Brooklyn is lifting the weekend drinking age to 25 after patrons' early morning drunken antics sparked outrage from frustrated neighbors.

At first I thought it was just a general preference and it was one that I was kind of on board with: when the crowd is closer to my age, the music changes, the drink specials change, the drunk conversations change, and And I am probably a happier patron.
But then I read the article and it looks like it's about the neighbors. Meh. While I don't think people should have to put up with beer bottles in their planters and excessive rowdiness, I also think that if you live near a bar, certain stuff comes with the territory. Just like living far from public transportation or living close to the airport comes with its own set of problems. Sometimes we need to find places that fit our needs well. Like after that hurricane that drowned the L.E.S., I decided that it's was probably a good idea to move to higher ground. So I did. I also scrapped my dreams to move back to Brighton Beach. I would recommend the same course of action for anyone who finds themselves shaking their fists and having meetings about noise and meddling kids. Queens is quieter. And cheaper. Just putting it out there.
Queens is nice, I had a bunch of friends who lived there for a few years so i got to spend some time there. (Before they all moved to Jersey.)
I had a friend who was living on the south tip of Manhattan when that hurricane displaced her for the better part of a year. It sounded like quite an ordeal.
I got back up and running in about a week when I was on the L.E.S. That was enough trauma to get me to move. I can't imagine a year.
I think they owned the place, and there was some structural damage and it turned into a whole thing...
