Remembering Taylor Hall
"It's going to be weird. I guess now I start thinking about it. I'm just trying to stay focused on helping my team and trying to get two points for us. It's definitely going to be weird and I'm not going to downplay that. It's going to be a super strange atmosphere for me."

I am more of a hockey observer (and a fan of hockey fans) than a legitimate hockey fan, so I would love to hear what any true Oilers fans think of the whole Taylor Hall thing (and of course last night's game). Any thoughts?

I was shocked like everyone else when Taylor got traded but I understood why it was done and we're a better team because of it but I feel really bad for Taylor. I don't ever remember a game where he just called it in. In fact, for a large chuck of the decade of misery, he was often the only Oiler who seemed to give a damn.
Unfortunately, he was the only player not named Connor McDavid that other teams wanted. Trading Nuge or Ebs wouldn't have gotten it done or that's what would have happened. I'm reasonably certain that Chia is operating with far more information than I have and letting someone like Taylor go wouldn't have been an easy choice but a change was needed desperately.
This is basically the conclusion I've come to based on everything I've read, yeah. But I just feel so bad for him! I just sucks so hard for him that he had to be what amounts to punished for being good (but not what they needed most). And last night's game must have been such a blow.
