How to Maintain Fishing Reels Gadgets

Fishing reels are some of the commonest fishing gadgets for most of us, composing of delicately designed small parts. We should make good maintenance of them even they’re not in use. We can uninstall and place them in a box or bag to avoid damage caused by impact or collision. Just remember to take them off and keep separately after using every time.

Make sure the reels are firmly installed while setup. If the reels are not tightly fixed, they might fall onto group and be damaged while casting lures. When sand or other substances are occasionally in the reel, clean up in time, or the reels will be affected.

Just as mentioned above, fishing reels are composed of many tiny but delicate parts; it’s not good idea to disassemble them if we do not know its internal structure clearly. If the internal parts cannot be restored originally, the reels might not be used again. Of course, we could ask experienced anglers or maintenance keepers in fishing stores for help.

After sea or river fishing, making clean of the fishing reels is a must. There are lots of gears inside the wheels. And the best way to maintain them is using lubricants to make them run smoothers, not get rusted. It’s better to saturate it in freshwater for about 20 minutes, dry and add lubricants to the wheel if for sea or saltwater fishing.
