Labor Day Weekend in Moab with the dog

Over labor day weekend we went down with the family to Moab. We usually like to take our dog with us when we go camping and hiking but as you all know, it's not always super easy to find places that allow Fido. This was the first time we took our dog to Moab and it turned out really great! We stayed in the Sand Flats campground next to Slick Rock Bike trail and the Fins and Things jeep trail. They allow dogs there and our dog absolutely loved it. He is an Australian Shepard Blue Heeler and he just will run and climb on the rocks all day. That was nice to stay at a campground where he could be. We did a few hikes and he was allowed at every single one. We did Negro Bill Canyon which according to this article (http://www.watsonswander.com/2013/dog-friendly-hiking-in-moab/) is the ultimate dog hike. We had to laugh at first but it ended up being true! We hiked through the river most the time instead of on the trail and our dog LOVED playing in the water the whole time. It was pretty warm so our dog could really stay cool while hiking in the river. We also did the Corona Arch trail off Potash Road. This was also a good one because our dog could explore around on the rocks and it is also an amazing hike with a great big arch at the end. Since dogs are not allowed in the National Parks in moab, it was still cool to be able to see a great arch with our dog. The last hike we did was the Mill Creek Waterfall trail which was another great dog hike because of all the water. We were really happy to be able to do so much with our dog while camping down there and we definitely recommend it to anyone that has a dog and likes to camp with them.
