Nanowrimo Arghs And Writing Updates

Free writing hasn’t given me anything good to work with so I have a feeling that November is going to roll around and I’m going to be screaming at my laptop and smashing my face against the keyboard until words come out. I’ve been stuck in editing mode with my manuscript and it’s been hard to get back into the new creative mode since I’ve been so focused on that.
That said - EVERYONE SHOULD JOIN ME IN SUFFERING! Write things! Get candy! Set goals! Even if you don’t write 50k - write! Do it! :D

...I've got to admit I'm tempted to do -something- for nano even if it's not an 'official' one or actually 50k /D like scripting that fancomic I keep saying I'm gonna restart but never actually get around to.
Even if you don't do the Nano thing officially, there's a lot of really great creative energy out there during November. At least it feels like that for me?
Yeah, it's nice- everyone seems to be busy making something at this time of year, especially with it being right after inktober. It does make you want to DO THINGS when you're surrounded by people doing so XD
Yeah, it's that kind of energy that I'm hoping to establish throughout the year? It's kind of hard to get it to stick otherwise. Camp Nanowrimo helps in April and July for me since I've been doing those, but man, the end of the year is just so full of everything that it's hard not to feel like you should be doing something.
Mhm. That's the problem I find with creative things- obviously it's mainly art in my case- that if you don't keep going, inertia sets in and it's hard to get started again. It definitely helps when there are things going on!
Yeah, exactly - that's why I've been trying to set goals every day to do SOME writing somewhere. Even if it's a little bit on the weekends. Getting sick and having to take a few days off made it really hard to get back in the saddle.
Ugh I know right? Same here- that cold I had knocked me right off and now I'm scrabbling to catch up. It's annoying because on the one hand you have to KEEP GOING and on the other HUMANS NEED BREAKS. It's a tough balance.
Yeah, ugh, it's such a weird balance of how you got to make this work out... I'm the same way with the whole 'new creative' vs 'editing' because I swear that it's the hardest thing for me to do. It's like, you gotta learn the whole "TAKE BREAKS DUMMY" and yet "MAKE SURE YOU WORK TOO" mentality.
I should try to do a good go at NaNoMangO myself. Last year... didn't happen so much. oDo;;;;;
You already have the practice and dedication with F*M - trying to do Nanomango for another one might be good for you? Maybe as a warm up for more fun things? :D
Maybe. If nothing else, doing something else might teach me how to balance multiple things better?
That's a good point. I know I'm going to be struggling with Nano for myself as I've been in editing mode for the last six months so it's like WHAT DO.
Yeah, there's always the initial OHGODWHAT when it come to starting stuff. Part of why F*M even got off the ground was because I just flung myself at it without giving myself a chance to fret into dawdling or overthink it into the ground.
I get what you mean there - I'm kind of the same with Nano. Planning it out doesn't tend to work other than having a general idea? One of which that I don't have either, since I'm in the middle of the other manuscript, but I'm hoping that on day one of Nano when I'm sitting and staring at my blank screen - something'll come out of it.
If not, lots more screaming.
Yes, let us all scream about writing, no matter what we are writing for. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
A writer's default nature is screaming!
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA D:
