Out and about

Spent a few hours to relax and take photos at a pier near my house yesterday, felt really good to be out by myself near the water.
Didn't see much for the first hour, slowly but surely the birds started coming out :D
This one was super friendly! I think people feed it, it followed me for a lil' while after I took the picture.
Now for the question, anyone have any idea what this is?! First thought was a crab(legs!) but this fella was posted about 5 feet up a palm tree... I've never seen a crab climb like that..

Oh wow, that is a lot of great pictures! The heron is amazing.
Squirrely looks like he wants to fight, tho.
Haha!! I think it just bugged out when it realized I was there. I hid by a tree, it got within about five feet of me then that picture happened.
First thing I thought of was the Screaming Marmot video on YouTube :D
If you haven't seen it(headphone/speaker warning): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KkGTB8ESMCM
ALAN! ALAN! ALAN! AL! ALAN!
no wait...I think that's Steve...
Seriously, though, great shots. I love the heron and the raven? crow?
:D Glad you like them! I'm actually not sure, most people I've shown It to said it was a raven! There was another I heard... had the word blue in its name, I forget though!
looked kind of like a boat-tailed grackle to me? where were you at (geographically and environment)?
On the west coast of Florida, I was by the gulf! Now that you mention boat-tailed grackle, I think I might've mistaken the words boat and blue 😅
haha, that's right about where they're at! https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Boat-tailed_Grackle/id
GBH picture is incredible! the squirrel one is pretty darn cute too : )
Thank you!! Glad you like them 😁
These are some great shots! Sorry I can't help with Mystery Crab :(
Thank you!! I figured out what it is, a Mangrove Tree Crab!!
Great set of shots, ANAYA!
