It's possible that while on the streets with your camera, that overzealous guards and police will stop, detain and try taking your equipment. Know your rights! Especially in this climate.

I was stopped by some over zealous security guards taking some photos outside their building and they started demanding my passport of driving licence. I refused and they threatened to call the police although eventually after deleting my cameras memory they let me go. Only afterwards did I find out they were actually acting illegally as I was in a public area and the building wasnt even sensitive like a airport. So its really important to know your rights these days so thanks for sharing.
Yikes. I would have refused and told them to call the cops, or walked away. I know my rights!
I once had an overzealous security guard tell me I couldn't lock my bike up outside their building. I didn't acknowledge him and walked away. This is downtown Minneapolis dude, you'll be hard pressed to find a street sign without a bike attached to it. 🙄
Any idea if there's an international version?
Which country? I might be able to find something.
Which is to say that's probably going to be different in every country. :-\
Uk, I feel like i could find something if i looked but it's late ish here so i don't feel like doing it right now 😂 (Also was going through my photos from earlier and saw a lady in the background giving me dirty looks 😂)
Yeah, sometimes people really don't appreciate being photographed, but they have unreasonable expectations for privacy while they're in public.
I suspect it'll probably be easier for you to find that information, but I'll give it a look and see what I can find for some other countries and add it to this thread.
I hope we get to see some of your photos soon!
excellent! this will come in handy in the coming years :)
No shit!
Thanks for sharing!
