Weekly or Daily pages?
I use a bullet journal, but I know there's a plethora of ways to use this system. Just curious: do you use weekly or daily tasks/pages? Please elaborate in the comments! Why does that work best for you?
And if you're still looking, feel free to describe your needs in the comments, too. Maybe we can help you find what you're looking for!

For me, my joy in the system is that it can be whatever I want, when I want it. I prefer weeklies (I formed my own fitting layout after a few months of experimentation), but if I'm too busy to set one up or if there's a week where I don't need that kind of structure, I can just turn the page and begin a new daily to-do list. It's flexible and I can change it any time! (But if I tried to use them at once I'd neglect to turn to both pages...so I only do one or the other at a time. 😯)
So far I just use weeklies, it seems to suit me better.
I use both! I need a weekly spread, because of the way my school work is structured and the way I personally find it most useful to organise my time. I also have dailies, though, so that I can split my weekly tasks (e.g. do the reading for Module 1) into smaller chunks (e.g. on Monday read page 1 to 10, and on Tuesday read page 11 to 20). This also helps with my anxiety since it makes daunting or stressful things seem manageable and forces me to really think about what I need to do rather than panic-procrastinating and ignoring it.
I can definitely see where that's helpful! I have anxiety too so I agree about breaking down the tasks. If I had found this system back when I was a student I'd probably use it the same way you are. :)
Thank you! During the summer I have definitely been tending towards a more running weekly to-do list, since I have less to do. I do really like that aspect of keeping this kind of journal - I've had academic/day to page journals in the past and got stressed out about how much "wasted" space I had some days.
Same here. Blank pages are a horrible way for a planner to spend its final days! And those planners are always similar with very /slight/ differences. Finding the nearly-perfect one and then wasting pages is, I agree with you, stressful.
Especially when I've spent a relatively high amount of money and it just becomes stressful and then I feel guilty about how "lazy" I'm being (because anxiety) so this is perfect!
Yes! Daily pages end up making me feel like I'm doing it wrong! I'll see these beautifully decorated daily pages people do, but when it comes right down to it that's not what works for me.
Exactly! I scrapbook and journal a lot, but I want/need my bullet journal to do different things.
I used to have a weekly page in addition to my dailies (which are usually 3-5 to a page), but I've gone back to using a monthly spread; I rely fairly heavily on that to help me plan just a few days ahead and also as a mini-calendar.
I have a weekly spread where I note events, appointments, and school assignment deadlines to give myself the overall structure of the week. Then I use my dailies to note what I specifically need to get done on that day. It helps me create a nice balance between always seeing the bigger picture and not getting overwhelmed by the big ideas.
I hear that a lot! The weeklies are fitting structure for the needs of school. (I mean, I use them now, but if I had found this back when I was a student it would've been lifesaving.)
I usually prefer weekly spreads so I can look at the bigger picture, because if I miss a day's task due to chronic illness, I can pick it back up later in the week, but trying to fit it in on a day to day basis when I don't have the spoons makes me lose all motivation.
I do have a list of things that I try and do every single day (wash, take certain amount of meds at specific times, make bed if I'm not bedbound) but I have all of that on a seperte chart.
Yes, sometimes when I leave it to daily pages, I end up skipping a few. Or several.
