It took me a bit to get it as well, but now I understand why imzy does it this way. I followed a lot of communities at once, but I haven't commented in them yet. You pick which username you want to use once you actually comment in a community.
Like right now I'm doing @josephinestone for anything Harry Potter or fan fiction related as that is my fandom writing name. For anything original and books etc. I'm using @josephinewoosley even though I hadn't 100% chosen that as my original fiction name yet. It probably will be once I get used to it. I'm just so attached to JS. And because I could I stole / * @Josephine which will probably be my catch all for things (so far only a post in sewing) around here that aren't writing related.
They could make you chose a username when you followed a community, but I like it this way better. It gives you time to think about it.
/* As in, I was really excited to find no one had it yet, because normally it is already taken.
Ah ok that makes sense! (Still would be nice to get a member list but :/)
And hello back! Yes hi five on getting Josephine! And what kind of sewing do you do? I used to make costumes (well, still do, just not as much time anymore)
I'm just barely learning to sew. I've made blankets for my friends when they had babies and burp-cloths. I also made blanket for my kids. I want to learn how to sew well enough so that I can make the kids clothes. My kids are tall and skinny so finding clothing that the waist fits at the same time as the length is difficult.
Ah yeah, funny enough that's why my mom had to learn to sew! (She's super tall. Alas I am more my dad's height.) and just checked out your blog - Hufflepuff Virgos unite! I have to ask - what did you think of the Cursed Child?
Yeah, I'm 5'8" (but not so skinny anymore), and I can already tell my daughter is going to surpass me. Which will be weird as it's rare for me to run into people taller than me. My husband is like 1/2 inch if anything taller than me. My brother, of course, is like 6'1".
Well, I haven't read it, but I've read tons of spoilers and many just break downs of the whole thing.
Spoilers Below: the spoiler markdown isn't working
[spoiler]("As a Albus/Scorpius shipper I am all \o/ for them being best friends, but 😡 over the forced Rose/Scorpius - that I just knew was going to happen. I'm so sick of the gay panic in stories. Just don't build up a homosexual relationship, if you don't want to follow through it. It's not that hard. They do this to tease fans - I knew they'd do this here, too. Even though I kind of like the nod to Tom Riddle/Bellatrix, I think the plot is so stupid. There are so many things they could have done that would have been interesting. Also, what is going on with Bellatrix's husband in all this? He's just cool with his wife sleeping with Voldemort?
Also, humiliation = Death Eater? I just don't buy that. I don't buy the whole plot to begin with. I don't like abusive!Dad Harry, even if people find that realistic. Ginny had a good childhood - she should have stepped in to point out that Harry was being abusive with the way he was trying to keep Albus alone without friends so that he had no support when people ganged up on him to beat him up (but then again - that was "bullied" by things we aren't shown so may people say he really wasn't being bullied. Yet, him being bullied by everyone - including his family - except Scorpius is a plot point. I understand they can't put everything in the play, so I'm going with he was bullied, which kind of requires the physical aspect to be there when you're talking about boys.)
Sorry - super long rants. I've read some good quotes from Draco and I'm glad that he is good father to Scorpius. I have trouble believing that anyone would fall for a rumor that Scorpius was Voldemort's when he looks just like Draco and not like his mother. I have an even harder time believing that Harry would entertain the idea even for a second, and refuse to help Draco by issuing a true statement that all the Time-Turners were destroyed. Especially since we're talking about his son's best friend here.")
Honestly, I already wrote a novel about Albus/Scorpius & Harry/Draco (that's a tragedy) that shows, kind of what I had seen the next gen being more like. It's not perfect - it was pretty rushed, especially at the end - but it's dark without being stupid (OMG, I'm so harsh - but I guess I just expect things from people who get paid a lot of money for this).
Sorry, I'm clearly way too passionate about Harry Potter.
