Social Skills
Idea sharing!
What are some techniques to help children and people of all ages develop the capacity to make and keep friends, express appropriate reactions in various social situations, and resolve conflicts?

Imitation is a good social tool, I think, especially when trying to fit in or get someone to like you.
Also asking questions that summarize what someone has just said or are semi personal.
For instance, if someone is talking about how their boss is awful to work for, that they micromanage or are inconsistent in direction, when they are finished you could summarize by saying something like "So you feel confined and lost in your work environment because of your boss's behavior?" and they'll probably feel like "Wow this person really understands, and is listening attentively."
Asking questions that are semi personal, ie focuses on them: could be what their favorite childhood memory is, the make up of their immediate family, what music they like, etc. People like talking about themselves.
