Is pokemon go dead?
What do you think of the actual state of pokemon go? do you think is still popular? dead? dead but can be resurrected with a really good update like adding another generation? do you think sun and moon can kill it?

I still play, and still see other people playing, but it's definitely not the obsession it was in the beginning. Last I heard, they're still making more revenue than games like Candy Crush.
I have no idea. I've personally stopped playing because the current tracking system makes the game boring, but I still occasionally see people playing it.
What do you mean about the tracking system? The lack of a good "nearby" function?
Yeah, they took away the footprints which made looking for pokemon random and not fun.
I agree, I think they're trying to patch that so it works again. I really liked the footprints.
I play it every day, as does my husband, and the local Facebook group is still quite active. I have not idea why people are saying it's dead/dying. Silly people.
Isn't Pokémon Go still really close to the top of the charts by lots of metrics and getting updated with new features every couple of weeks and stuff...? o.O
I wouldn't say it's dead. It's just that it's lost its popular fad status, which was always going to happen eventually. I've been playing less often because it's cold out and I'd have to take my gloves off to use my phone, but I reckon I'll get back into it once spring rolls around. Especially if they've added Gen 2 Pokémon by then.
You should sew some conductive thread into your glove fingertips! I just ordered some and it actually works really well :) I'm using it on my vintage gloves, you just sew a line right into the seam and you can flick your finger back and forth on your phone pretty naturally.
Hmm, maybe. My gloves are already supposedly "touchscreen gloves", but they still never work. But I don't know what kind of material they're made out of.
I only play if I go to some play completely new. I did play during the Halloween "event" but my local area is so devoid of any stops or gyms there's no real point for me. Plus the battery drain is a huge issue, especially with the tracker not working.
Is it dead? I don't know. I'm sure it'll pop back to life if/when they release new mons either way
I still play but probably about 1/8 what I used to. They need to introduce new Pokémon. I'm sick of the ones where I live.
Last update they actually did that at least in my area. They also reduced the number of junk Pokemons like Pidgey and Rattata.
Intriguing! If the pokemon changed where I am, I'd probably pick it up again -- lack of variety was most of what made me stop. Not able to leave my daily grind walk to walk other places = boring fast.
I don't think is dead. It's very alive to me at least and a lot more people. I still play everyday tho not as much as before.
I'm still out catching pokemon and taking down gyms every day. I think it's doing okay even if it's not at the Literally Everyone Is Playing This Right Now hype levels of the first week. I'm looking forward to what new stuff they have planned for us.
I stopped playing in August and uninstalled the app in October. Too many bugs in the app and inconsistent game play; if I wanted to sit and watch my phone do nothing I'd go to Facebook.
I still play every day, but not with the fervor of the third party tracker days. It is still a little too hard to find Pokémon with the in-game tracker.
If they release new gen monsters or trading, there will be an uptick, like there was for the Halloween event.
Yeah, it's just dropped back to a steady-state low buzz, from the complete phenomenon it was at launch. I suspect this is the new normal for a long time, with slight up-ticks for special events.
I still play regularly when I'm out and about, I just don't run out speicifically to catch pokemon much anymore, both due to the lack of trackers and the fact that my Gen 1 dex is full of pretty much everything that actually spawns... my only gaps are things I'll probably only get from eggs, unless I'm in another city (or country) and they happen to spawn there.
The new daily/weekly bonuses are actually getting me out a bit more again, though. Mainly because I want to push a bit more to Lv30 for the free incubators it gives...
I've stopped playing because of the inability to really do much since I don't have the kind of work-life balance, the kind of job or live in the kind of area where I can wander around places that aren't always the same, so I collect all the same Pokemon and then am left pretty bored.
