U.S. Political news and discussion. International news and politics also welcome.
Is this a US-specific group?
The US-specific imagery in the banner and the icon would suggest that this is a group specifically about US politics (as does the "2016 Election" tag that doesn't specify a country). But the "about" says that it's about politics "around the world". Just making sure I understand what to expect. Thanks!

Note: I'm not a leader on this comm.
I don't think it's meant to be, but we have a lot of US people posting and the timing of when Imzy started up coincided with the 2016 election. I know I'd be happy if non-US politics were discussed, because I'd love to learn more about them!
Agreed.
Hi, I'm a community leader. International discussion is welcome here, though a majority of the posts are US related.
However, we will take down any posts from spam sites, fake news sites, known disinformation sites (US equivalents: breitbart.com, wnd.com, infowars.com).
Thanks for the response. It sounds like it's not a group that is actively interested in trying to be non-US-specific, so I'm going to bow out again (it's not that I'm not interested in US politics, but I feel like there is no shortage of places with a primary focus on US politics these days, and I'm not really looking for another one). I'm glad to hear that you're at least open to a general politics focus, though, and I'll check back periodically to see if things have changed.
If you do want to show that you welcome non-US-specific discussion (and that it would be worthwhile for people to post things here that aren't about the US), I'd really encourage you to (at the very least) change the VERY US-specific imagery in the banner and the community icon. At the moment, it's kind of like joining a group called "Animals" with a description reading "Discussion of all animals is welcome here!", but not only are all but two of the posts about cats, the banner and the community icon also both sport pictures of cats without any sign of other animals anywhere. :)
