Ivanka Trump set to get West Wing office as role expands

Ivanka Trump, who moved to Washington, D.C., saying she would play no formal role in her father's administration, is now officially setting up shop in the White House. The powerful first daughter has secured her own office on the West Wing's second floor - a space next to senior adviser Dina Powell, who was recently promoted to a position on the National Security Council.

Oh my god. This is really happening. This dude is legit a dictator...he's marching his family into the White House and the country into illness, war, and economic instability.😦

    IMPEACH!😠

Other than her continued involvement in her and her family's business ventures, is this really that abnormal?

The First Lady generally gets an office in the White House, a staff, and pursues some pet policy projects. For Hilary Clinton it was healthcare reform, for Michelle Obama it was childhood obesity and nutrition. Since Melania has made it pretty obvious she doesn't want to play the role of FLOTUS, it seems natural for Ivanka to step in.

Don't get me wrong, this is definitely uncharted territory and quite worrying. But in the grand scheme of things, it seems like a pretty minor issue.

What's that metaphor about the frogs slowly being boiled alive? That's the same point I'm trying to make. Baby steps don't seem like much until you're at the finish line.
