Jake Gyllenhaal to play one of The Anarchists Vs. ISIS in new film

Not long after giving Life to their first collaboration, Jake Gyllenhaal and Daniel Espinosa are getting ready to team up once more for something less tentacled and more earthbound. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Gyllenhaal has just boarded The Anarchists Vs. ISIS, which Espinosa will direct.

BTW, they're fighting for Rojava. The biggest true, bottom-up democracy in the world. It's in the Middle East & is feminist.

Interesting, I have never heard of that group before. But then again the only real women or women's movement in the middle east reported on in the US has been Malala Yousafzai. Not saying anything bad about her it would just be nice to have more stories about groups like Rojava in the US media.

Yeah, other than anarchists, I don't know who else in the US talks about it. Can't find any mention in the feminist world I listen to. (!)

Which is weird—at each level of gov't, there's 2 co-leaders: 1 woman & 1 man. (2 co-mayors, etc.) All their "police" are elected, receive their weapons after 2 weeks feminist instruction, and a women-only police deal with sexual assault & rape.

Probably racism: Middle Easterners can't be so culturally advanced in feminism & democracy.

It's pretty damn big, the top part of Syria. The most effective ground force against ISIS.

Well that's something I never would have imagined Hollywood making a movie about. At least, not so soon. They usually don't make movies about conflicts until several years after the fact.
