Jeff Sessions Dismisses Hawaii as 'an Island in the Pacific'
WASHINGTON - Attorney General Jeff Sessions spoke dismissively about the State of Hawaii while criticizing a Federal District Court ruling last month that blocked the Trump administration from carrying out its ban on travel from parts of the Muslim world.

*an island off the Pacific that we forcibly took from a peaceful indigenous people for the glory of capitalism Only REAL Americans get to be in the club.
It's hilarious that Trump and co. hold up the "flyover" heartland states as the "real America' but then offhandedly dismiss Hawaii as "an island in the Pacific". I imagine the conversation was like
"We need a state to make fun of."
"Well, people like it when we make fun of coastal liberals."
"How about Hawaii then? It's a bunch of islands, so it's all coast. Plus, Obama grew up there."
"Perfect."
Well this is awkward
Also the govtrack link as well
A bit of trivia but less trivial when taken in the context of this article:
New Hampshire, Maine, Rhode Island, Montana, Delaware, South Dakota, North Dakota, Alaska, Vermont, and Wyoming have a smaller population (individually) than Hawaii does.
Vermont and Wyoming combined have a smaller population than Hawaii.
