One Nation Under Gods: Despite what Steven King says, the U.S. was never a Christian nation

Despite what Steve King says, the U.S. was never a Christian nation. Representative Steve King of Iowa is a racist, a bigot, and a xenophobe. I don't intend these adjectives to be polemical but rather merely descriptive. Representative King recently insisted that we "can't restore our civilization" with "other people's babies."

We have a treaty ratified by John Adams with negotiations starting with George Washington that answers the question if the US is a Christian Nation.

As the government of the United States of America is not in any sense founded on the Christian Religion,-as it has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religion or tranquility of Musselmen,-and as the said States never have entered into any war or act of hostility against any Mehomitan nation, it is declared by the parties that no pretext arising from religious opinions shall ever produce an interruption of the harmony existing between the two countries.

But what would Washington and Adams know about the Constitution anyway? I mean Adams only helped write the declaration of independence and both where alive and knew the people who wrote the Constitution.

I don't think facts will ever be relevant to Steve King.

Was gonna say, you could just say "despite what Steve King says" in most situations and it's accurate

Yeah even if there was no official US government stance on the issue, why would any Christian want Christianity to be mandatory? You would just make people resent it for being forced on them.

It's Steven King's position on religion in society/government that has helped caused millenuals to leave churches in droves. No one wants a theocracy
