Poor 'don't want health care,' Kansas congressman says, and the backlash begins

"Just like Jesus said, 'The poor will always be with us. ... There is a group of people that just don't want health care and aren't going to take care of themselves," U.S. Rep Roger Marshall said in an interview published last week.

Would suggest reading the whole thing, because the way he tries to walk it back is disgusting.

Republicans are really really good at starting in a hole and digging deeper and deeper anytime they open their mouths.

"The poor don't want health care, the refugees don't want safety, and the women don't want equal rights!"

"The homeless don't want homes, the hungry don't want food, and the babies don't want to grow!"

He is just thinking of Supply Side Jesus not the brown skinned anti-war socialist who gives away free healthcare.

I can't wait for Jesus to come back and straighten some things out for these "religious" Christians.

Muslims have a bit of a different view on who is/will be.

If Jesus did come back they would throw him in Guantanamo Bay, do you think they would really let a guy like that looks like this in talking about helping the poor and loving everyone?

It's amazing the stories people will tell themselves to get out of doing anything they don't feel like doing.

“The Medicaid population, which is (on) a free credit card, as a group, do probably the least preventive medicine and taking care of themselves and eating healthy and exercising."

Why don't the poor shop organic and join a gym?! Obviously they don't want to be healthy.

Why why why are people like this in charge of any aspect of public welfare?

"Come on poor people, just hurry up and die already, would ya? My tee time can't be rescheduled!"
