THUNK - 95. Duverger's Law & Ingroup Bias

This election is divisive, both in & between parties. Unfortunately, our brains don't work too well in groups.

Great video that explains why the American political system is how it is.

This fellow packs a lot into 9 minutes, and has a good makeup level. Our society is a torrent of information, much of it a-political and useful, but increasingly overwhelming. People tend to tune out, ignore new facts, and stick to sound bite summaries. We watch media that reinforces our current thinking, and have Facebook using our likes to minimize/sculpt our experience with an end goal of advertising dollars. This video is encouraging us to recognize we're being manipulated, both by media/politics and our own human brain tendencies. Here's to more time communicating with an open mind.
