Trump's ambiguous comments alarmed some political observers as to whether he was threatening her life or calling for increased political activity. Robby Mook, Clinton's campaign manager, issued a one-sentence statement in response to Trump. "This is simple -- what Trump is saying is dangerous.

    Completely disgusting.

    All the coy attempts to spin this as anything else than recommending that someone shoot his opponent if she wins are transparent and pathetic.

    If any regular person had said this, they would be in a small room being asked very pointed and serious questions by grim Secret Service agents by now.

    Fun fact: The move The Running Man, starring Arnold Schwarznegger, is set in the distant future of 2017. I re-watched it recently, and it holds up as a surprisingly plausible theory as to what Trump's America could be like.
