TSA warns local police about 'comprehensive' airport pat-downs

The Transportation Security Administration has declined to say exactly where -- and how -- employees will be touching air travelers as part of the more invasive physical pat-down procedure it recently ordered. But the agency does expect some passengers to consider the examination unusual.

I can't wait for a more thorough pat down to figure out whether or not the underwire of my bra contains explosives. Even though I am deeply uncomfortable with the whole thing, I always do it in public because private seems even scarier.

Fun fact: Getting felt up by a sweet 60-year-old woman at an airport taught me that any unwanted fondling, even expected and by an older, non-threatening woman, feels very similar to actual assault. I was shaking and teared up by the end even though, logically, I knew that didn't make sense. So this will be even more fun for assault survivors.

This enhanced pat down seems like even more reasons to avoid flying or traveling anyway that involves going through a TSA checkpoint. There is no real reason for the extra TSA security anyway and the fact that you can pay a small fee to skip the TSA check point proves that. They are only doing this because they keep missing guns and bombs in the tests ran against them.

"Hey, our current screening measures don't seem to be effective. Maybe we should try something different."

"No, that's too much effort. Why don't we just keep doing the same thing, just more aggressively and intrusively. I'm sure that will work out somehow."

It's not really all that unpleasant. LOL.

Yeah cutie, keep going. Hurr hurr hurr. ;)

Keep saying that when your junk is getting aggressively pat down by a 60 year old obese man looking for buried treasure.

Like a trip to the doctor then. I mean, they are wearing gloves, I'm wearing pants. We are already ahead of the game. Also, it's security theater, so if you have to fly, and you have no other choice in the matter, then you pretty much have to endure whatever it is to get through it. Think about your happy place. It's not like you have choices, if that's how you have to travel. Without choice, then either complain or try to make the best of it.

I'm going to have to fly very soon to Oklahoma. So I've got to make peace with whatever personal violation is in my future. Reframe the horror, turn it into a comedy.

This might be the new GOP health care plan, free full screenings anytime you want to fly or take the bus or train. Dont worry since they dont believe in science no actual doctors will be involved just whoever the TSA can hire at slightly above minimum wage.
