Do you use an extension that remembers all your passwords and logs you into things automatically, such as Lastpass?

Yup, I use 1Password. I have no idea what most of my passwords are.

I used LastPass but then I had problems with it - can't remember the details at this point, but it was incredibly frustrating.

I use LastPass, but I regret it every time I have to access an account of mine from an unfamiliar device.

I use Zoho Vault, it needs some UI love but it's the only one that I can find which is 100% free for consumers and includes all features that others make you pay/upgrade for. I also use Chrome's built in Smart Lock feature to save passwords.

I've disabled Zoho Vault from automatically logging me into stuff since it was hit or miss, and it just ended up being annoying. It's not too difficult to go to the site, log in, copy a password I need and move on.

Zoho Vault saves the majority of my passwords, however, not all of them. For example, my multiple Google passwords are all memorized and I won't ever put them in Zoho (each of them are 100% unique). There are a couple other passwords that I do the same with.

The password manager thing is pretty new for me, only been using it for about 3 months now. The initial prep work of setting it all up took a lot, but now that it's set up all is good. I like it.

I use an offline database called keePass2 - all my passwords are encrypted, and stored on my own device, with a password to access them. This makes it far easier for me to use strong passwords and a different password for every site. Also - when prompted for a security question - I give random words as answers and store them in the same database :) "What was the name of your first pet?" "Bulgaria" What was the town you were born in ? "Purple"

    Everyone should!

I have a little black book containing all my passwords. :D

My friend uses Lastpass, and just today it automatically filled a password and clicked "submit"... on a form to delete their mobile phone number. They're pretty devastated. D:

So what if someone were to somehow obtain access to this black book? Would it not be devastating?

        This is what I do:

        Make a password

        Use it for everything

Realize I really shouldn't be using one password for everything

Change my passwords to variations of the original password

Forget what I changed the password to

Switch password to a different variation

Repeat last 2 steps until I end up using one password for everything

        Repeat all of the above

Oh yes, most definitely. The two things I said were unconnected, really.

I'm just saying, it seems like a bad idea to put all your eggs in one basket. I don't give lastpass all my passwords. For somethings, I give it part of a password, so it fills in the first half, but only I know the second half.

That way, when our artificial intelligent overlords come looking for my spam emails, they won't be able to get in.

'Tis true. Anything that involves something other than having a super-memory is a big risk. All passwords the same = risk from someone finding ONE password remotely. Little black book = risk if someone breaks into my house, steals my bag while it's in there, etc. I decided the latter was a lower risk, and much more useable for me.

That way, when our artificial intelligent overlords come looking for my spam emails, they won't be able to get in.

Hahaha, good good! :D Wouldn't want them getting... *checks spam filter* At the moment it mostly seems to be salutations, accompanied by a mysterious URL. :D
