I used to burn it a lot when I was a young bohemian type. Less now. A friend gave me a "Rauchermann" (smoking man) burner, so sometimes I use that bc it's awesome. And, you know, the occasional stick of Nag Champa. It was always my favourite.
When I burn sticks, which is most of the time, I use the kind made without the wooden cores (Morning Star is my favorite brand). That keeps the smell of 'burning wood' down.
Great idea!
I presume smudging with sage can count as 'incense'? I used to use incense a lot, but then I read something that the smoke screws up your lungs, like smoking, and,...yeah. Cut back on that.
Aromatherapy oils in a diffuser, though? NOW you're talking!
I don't have a sense of smell. So incense does 0 for me.
My stepfather loved the stuff so I used to light it when I lived with him. Haven't used it in years now that I've moved out, though.
Indian incense are the best type of stick incense that I've smelled.
Bakhoor and 'oud (agarwood) are my favorite type of non-stick incense, but can be very strong and smoky for the unaccustomed, but smell amazing to me.
I have allergies that are triggered by perfumes etc and incense is one of the worst for causing me issues!
Never really liked incense. My mom loved the stuff, but it gave me headaches.
My wife prefers smelly candles instead of incense. She says incense smells like something's burning (I guess I can't argue with that). But I prefer incense, myself. I just rarely get to use it.
