This is one I have mixed feelings on. We don't wanna discourage people from commenting on more contentious and/or embarrassing polls - but, at the same time, make sure everyone follows the rules that you have laid out.
If anything, I feel like this sub would die if we disallowed anon posting.
That's a good point. Truth to be told, I replied as "anon" on a few occasions.
I know.
That said, I probably should abstain from the more fannish (Jimmy Reed, Avenged Sevenfold, and blues music) type of polls - since we have people o0f varying interests here. And also the social justice stuff, which there are other communities for.
Yeah, it might be a good idea to keep the very specific/niche polls to their respective communities, and to keep the polls here more general-interest.
Fair enough. I just wish people had let me know that in a less passive-aggressive manner.
I agree. That's why I put that in the rule clarification.
Yeah, thanks very much for that. <3
Yeah, being passive-aggressive is very disrespectful.
Let the moderation and rules apply to all. Even the anon.
Are you seeing a difference in how I'm treating the two different types of posts/comments?
I haven't seen anything, except I'm not in the middle of it either. :/
Then I'm not sure I understand what you're talking about in terms of treating anon/non-anon differently?
I suppose I was approaching it by the poll question, allowing anon in polls. That if there were any abuses in the anon poll responses to let the rules and moderation structure prevail. Didn't know there were specific cases, just thought there was general cases. So, ignore me! Bubububububububub :)
Haha. The same rules apply to both anon and non-anon posts and comments. That's how we've been dealing with it, and that's how I plan on dealing with it in the future.
I'm guessing you too saw /show_of_hands, and their welcoming post?
Yeah. I'm sad, because I had no idea people felt this way. I wish they would have voiced their concerns somehow... maybe by participating?
I knew some people were dissatisfied with how things were going here. It's part of the reason I wanted to join. I didn't realize people wanted a totally new community, though.
Hopefully we can work together, and hopefully the members can send us messages regarding their worries, and we'll make this community great.
Maybe you should make a post telling users with complaints to write us a message, and informing them you are adding more leaders to deal with unsavory characters?
Sure, good idea.

Thanks! I am trying!
Wow, thank you very much :)!
If what you say about me is true, I hope I can use it to contribute to ensuring this community stays happy and safe.
Thanks again, and have a good night/day! :)
I love Imzy. Such nice people :).
They're nice unless you don't like Hillary Clinton. Then they're not so nice.
I've expressed the fact that I am not in support of (and am in disapproval of) Secretary Clinton. I've never gotten harassed. I've even got some likes.
We're all bound to have some opinion that others don't agree with, and that's fine; that's what diversity is all about, and Imzy is all about diversity.
However, we have to know the time, place, and manner in which we should discuss those things. So if we know the community we're in has a large number of Clinton supporters, we should probably keep our opinions to ourselves, or share them on communities with views akin to ours. I'm not saying you did anything wrong; I don't know what your particular experience was. I'm just saying what I try to exercise.
I personally try my best (although I often fail often) at following the words, "speak good or remain silent." Maybe something I say will be taken as good by some people, but taken as bad by others, so I have to know when it is appropriate to speak my opinion. I also have to be careful with how I phrase things. I find that I can often word something crudely or in a way that could anger and offend other people. I try to be cautious about this, especially when I know I am speaking unpopular messages.
(I hope you don't take this as me telling you that you did something wrong, or you deserve the treatment you got. I just thought I would share my own experiences to suggest how we might all function together in a healthy way while still keeping our diverse thoughts.)
I hope your experience on Imzy becomes better!
Thanks! Great advice! I just wish everyone followed the same principles.
