Honestly... You Me Her must've really changed it's tune in S2 for me to agree with that headline. I more or less hate-watched the second half of S1, I found it so frustrating and problematic. Yes, poly can be messy especially to new people but honestly... I struggle to think of anything I enjoyed with that show. Maybe the fact that the women weren't straight, but that's about it tbh. I don't think they said polyamory once in the whole season, though they said polygamy at least twice and nearly every damned secondary character wasn't just skeptical or confused or surprised but aggressively against the idea of 3 people in a relationship. Not to mention they move in together after dating for like a month. I shalln't keep ranting about all the things I found problematic, I will sum up however with that it felt like it took many of the things I find problematic about monogamy and just expanded the concept to include a third person.
Yer I had to stop watching you me her because I found the way they treated everything as a confrontation exhausting just to watch. Also poly issues aside I can't believe it hasn't drawn more criticism for depicting becoming obsessed with your escort and tracking her down at home as ok.
Thank you for the Unicornland tip, looking forwards to watching that.
Yes! Apparently in S2 they move in together after like less than 2 months and I'm just like "y'all need to chill and have the basic talks like no stalking and no revenge fucking first!". And it's soooo whorephobic considering one of the mc is an escort. And all their friends are such assholes! And they don't know how to google!!
Okay, reeling it back in. Lol. This show gets me so riled up.
