It's been almost three weeks now. The news cycle has moved on.But I, for one, have not fully processed the news that Donald J. Trump is going to be president. Those words still sound like nonsense to me. I can't shake the sense of surreality. And I know I'm not alone.

This is a long read but worth it, as it is one of the most comprehensive Presidential post-mortems thus far.

The TLDR is literally in the title. Many factors were in play and the margin of victory is extremely slim.

The most valuable part of the essay is the analysis of what happens from here. Clinton's platform addressed the working class regardless of Color, while Trump's campaign stoked white racial resentment. We know it works, politicians know it works, and the Democratic Party is awkwardly trying to dance around it.
