Yup, every time a famous non-politician with a platform speaks out against injustice, reactionaries will dismiss them as non-politicians. If you live in society, you're involved in politics whether you like it or not. And if you have a platform that power gives you a responsibility to affect change. It's basic human decency.
So part of what you're saying is that you view the role of artists--particularly those with a good amount of celebrity--automatically comes with the responsibility to speak about injustice? Did I get that right?
Fame, yes. We're all part of the social contract. Fame does not come without mass attention, the platform society gives you. What do you do with that platform?
