I remember being a volunteer at the VBS the week of the attack in Nice, France. I didn't witness any children especially upset and didn't have a relationship with any of them that made it my responsibility to explain it and help them feel secure, but I remember the head organizer saying at the early morning meeting, there may be some kids on edge by what they'd heard and we needed to be ready to talk about it in a gentle and safe way. 😥
I hope you were able to handle things without too much stress for either you or the kids. Sounds like a very emotionally-taxing job.
