Long reads, short reads, interesting articles that aren't straight up news or clickbait.
I write on the internet. I'm sorry.

Try to pinpoint the last time you took a purposeless walk through the late spring breeze, when there was no itch in your hand to reach for a mobile device, and you felt like the wind and sky around you had nothing to disclose to you other than the vast and mysteriously sympathy of existence itself.

This was nicely written. I enjoyed it to an extent. It seems to make the argument that the source of our discontent has more to do with how connected we are than with what writers are actually publishing.
And to be honest, I get a bit bored with the "everything that's wrong with us has to do with looking at our phones too long and too frequently" complaint. Yes, we do do that. Yes, it has noticeable effects on our memories and interactions and interests. It's also really common online and irl to complain about it. I get it. Everyone does. Because everyone is saying it all the time. Everyone rolls their eyes at the idea of being "too" connected.
But maybe instead of saying, "boo technology, you ramp up my anxiety," it would be nice if there was more "this is how we can use technology and content consumption to mitigate what we're noticing; this is how we move forward in a healthier way."
Idk. Maybe I'm wrong, but that's how I feel. I'm so over tech-hating as much as I love analogue things. The future is here. We must adapt.
