Why I'm leaving Snapchat and so are all your friends - Charged Tech
Snapchat is the darling of technology: for years, we've fawned over the company for being innovative, using daring interfaces and out of the ordinary tactics to get people to pay it. Despite the fact that the app was always what some would consider "hostile" to new users, full of design anti-patterns, it managed to gain a fledgling user base of 180 million monthly active users.

What's a snapchat?
Basically it's a way for kids to expose themselves and for young adults to make poor decisions that they think won't harm them until they discover that iphones have screenshot functionality built into the OS, so the primary stab of snapchat, of consequence free photo-sharing suddenly wasn't consequence-free anymore. It's really hazardous for younger-than-adults because they can expose themselves and then once the digital photography is out there, you can't kill it off. Copies can live forever, haunting kids well into their adult years through avenues as unpleasant as blackmail.
Also, the interface is rather quite awful.
