Eldritch - The most interesting and creepiest rouge-like I have ever played
Save 90% on Eldritch on Steam
Right now it's only $1.50 on Steam, and it's a steal. It follows an unamed player character who wakes up in a library with no knowledge on how they got there. The only thing you can do at that point is enter 1 of 5 magical books. Each book brings you to a unique, randomly generated dungeon inspired by H.P. Lovecraft's works. One of the more unique aspects of this game is the fact that stealth is a viable option. When using stealth, enemies take less hits to take down, which means you conserve ammo and put yourself in less danger. Enemies also have a unique trait, if you loot them, they can respawn, you have to decide if a chance for a key is worth possibly refighting an enemy. Throughout the dungeon you collect unique items, like pendants that increase damage or even grappling hooks that let you reach higher areas. The catch to these items though, is the fact you can only carry so much on you at a time. Do you get rid of your gun so you can blow a hole in the ground with some explosives so you can trek through the dungeon faster? Do you leave your dagger behind so you can use a pickaxe to tunnel through walls? Is increased damage more important than a marker leading you to the exit? You decide all of this.

This is normally not my type of game, but I sold a bunch of cards and have the money in my steam account. So I will definitely check it out. Thanks!
if you're into Lovecraftian stuff and you like either stealth games or FPS' then you'll probably find something you like in it!😁
Thanks, I got this from some bundle, since it's already in my library. Moving it into my "To Play" list.
Edit: So I played a bit last night, looked like it would scratch an itch, and it did. Neat little roguelike FPS with a wide variety of strategic options. It's one of those games you can keep coming back to.
