What novel should I read next?
The last novel I read was The Wise Man's Fear by Pat Rothfuss. I loved it. But since then, I've only read non-fiction. Summertime is definitely a time for novels, though.
My top 3 favourite authors are Isaac Asimov, Jane Austen and Len Deighton. I'm looking for a stand-alone novel, or a finished series no longer than 4 books. I promise to report back with my impressions.
So what should I read?

Wow, that's so tough. Asking what to read after a Kingkiller Chronicles novel is like asking what mountain to climb after Everest (I mean this in the best way possible :D)
Have you ever read anything by David Baldacci? His novels are connected but you can read them as stand-alones.
Lincoln & Child - Some of these are really old like the Relic is already a movie, but they are very exciting and captivating!
The Expanse by James S.A. Corey - 3 Books so far in the series with a 4th book to come. Really awesome science fiction and there is also a show out now if you're into that too.
The Brent Weeks - Night angle trilogy
You could also try the novella Rothfuss published about Auri. Its called The Slow Regard of Silent Things and its not your typical story, but its very beautiful. Its holding me over until The Doors of Stone gets published. However, its not nearly as good as the main books and some people strongly disliked it.
I've heard really polarized reviews of The Slow Regard. I think I'm going to wait to read it until after Kingkiller is finished. I'll totally look into Bladacci, though! Thanks!
Recommending Joe Abercrombie's First Law trilogy. Grab The Blade Itself and give it a whirl. If you do like it he also wrote three stand alone novels from the same world. My boyfriend actually read Patrick Rothfuss and then immediately got into Abercrombie's work. He says it ruined him because nothing has compared.
Thanks for the recommendation! I'll check it out and report back!
