Espressione del giorno: «dolce far niente».
Literally: ‘sweet doing nothing.’
Significance: ‘enjoyable idleness (a meantime).’
An expression without an exact equivalent in English (that I know of). The ‘sweetness’ is of course analogical for enjoyment.
Example: «Ci stiamo crogiolando nel dolce far niente?» (What are we slowcooking in the meantime?)
