Weekly Session Report! Tell us about your game!
Hey, all,
I'm planning on posting these every Monday in the future, but I got distracted with life stuff last night and put it off. Bleh. Anyway, to start things off I'll talk about my weekly games.
I play a Bard in a DnD 4th Ed game at the beginning of the week. At the moment, we're currently embroiled in a fight with a weird plant-lich-fey dude and some big pile of Moss that can spawn dudes that are essentially copies of us. It's a tough fight, and I almost got literally one-shot by the lich early on. At this point we're down most of our big abilities and things are looking dire!
I also play in a Monsterhearts game where things are looking dire. A horde of monster hunters AND a horde of spider creatures have separately descended on the town and want to kill everyone. I used to be a ghoul but got freaky-friday'd into a mortal body, and then the werewolf I love had sex with the person in my body and it hurt my feelings. A lot. I'm hoping my mortalness will help us defeat both hordes atm but that remains to be seen.
Finally, I DM a game of DnD 5th Ed towards the end of the week. They're working to end slavery in the region and have made great strides towards it. They're currently hunting a lieutenant of the biggest slaver on the coast, and that has taken them into a creepy, magical swamp. They got in a fight with some bullywugs and hell hounds who work for the lieutenant and I almost killed two players. Oops.
So how about everyone else? I just saw that we hit 25 people which, to me, is huge. I'm aware that there's already another community that covers all things tabletop (/Tabletop) so the fact that we're still getting people who join is really cool to me. Oh! And now might be a good time to ask if anyone had any suggestions for community rules, descriptions, post reminders, etc.

Well, I haven't had any sessions yet this week, but I suppose I'll talk about the session I ran last Saturday.
It was pretty uneventful, all told. I run Savage Worlds Deluxe edition, with a few rules from Deadlands, Hellfrost, and the Horror Companion thrown in for kicks. The setting is an early industrial gunpowder fantasy, set on the brink of a world war.
Currently, the players are joining a military action to find out what happened to a city in the mountains that's been completely shut down after an explosion was heard. They mostly just talked to some people, got some backstory on the major players in the region, and signed up for the excursion force. Next session should be more interesting, but we took up a lot of time last session introducing everyone and their characters and explaining what had happened so far, since we just started recording in the hopes of posting the sessions on youtube.
