Beautiful and peaceful melancholy. Things that make you sad but not distraught. You don't have to be happy all the time.
Favorite movies for when you're sad?
My go-to films for when I'm feeling meloncholy are Lost In Translation, Far From the Madding Crowd, Becoming Jane, and Anne of Green Gables. What are yours?

My favourite films to lift me up are Steel Magnolias and old Hollywood classics such as Some Like it Hot
If I want to keep feeling sad, usually it'll be a tearjerker of some kind. It's not a movie, but Call the Midwife is a great TV show for this, because I can't get through an episode without bawling no matter what mood I'm in to start with.
If I want to cheer up, I love Yes Man. It's not the greatest movie in the world but I find its message so uplifting.
CALL THE MIDWIFE IS THE GREATEST. Oh, I love it so much.
