Unborn rays traumatized when their mothers are captured: World-first study finds

The stress of unintentional fishing capture has a detrimental impact not only on pregnant rays, but also their unborn offspring, research that is the first of its kind in the world has found. The study, led by graduating Monash Science PhD candidate Leonardo Guida, was recently published in Scientific Reports.

    Epigenetics applies to marine animals too. Nice! I love using the epigenetic approach while debating with fundamentalists who ignorantly judge any so-called sins such as violence, addiction, and sexual orientation. I'm probably too idealistic, but I'd like to see people understand that we are fully responsible for our human experience, individually and collectively. I don't like blanket dismals premised on genetics, God(S), and/or devils.
