Has anyone else heard of Odessey One?
Into the Black [Remastered Edition] (Odyssey One Book 1)
A while ago, I saw on my kindle an advertisment for this book called 'The King of Theives', with agiant spaceship running away from what looked like a giant star. Intrigued, I accedently stumbled into a bit of a hidden gem. Now it's not perfect, the the writer has a real tendancy to ramble on about his technology, the setup feels a bit contrived and it can get preachy... but when it's running on all cylinders it's a sight to see... with the greatest spaceship battles I've ever seen, and an universe utterly compelling. The thing that suprises me, is nobody seems to have heard of this. I will admit it's a bit pulpy and only avalible on Amazon Kindle... but it feels like I'm the only person who enjoys this series.
So drop a coment if you enjoy this, and if you're looking for a new series to dig into for the holidays... I will recomend this to anyone who smiles wildly when they hear the phrase 'laser cannons'

Boy did you find a good author if you want some solid space fiction. I've ready everything by Evan and never been disappointed. He keeps it fun on difference concepts of science, but in the end always adds a bit of the impossible to push things along. Captain Weston becomes the space captain I always wanted to see in movies and on the big screen. You cannot go wrong with the rest of this series and you'll find yourself wishing for more.
On a side note the other large series that starts with
On Silver Wingsis slower to start, but is every bit as engaging when you get into it.If Hollywood needs any ideas, I would like to see the odessey or even the odessyus burning things to the ground... it would be a match made around a physics defying gravity moon
This so so so so much!
Though the whole "having coffee mid battle" thing and the really big light speed delay might make it have some nasty pacing
It's pulp and unapologetically so. If you like action-packed space opera, you will like the book. If you want a read that has a lot of deeper meaning... well, this might not do the trick. But hey, I read for fun too :)
I loved the book. I have actually read(listened) to almost everything he has published I still lack two books. Which I will soon rectify.
