Pattern matching princess seams?
Hi!
I recently did a class in making my own basic blocks for a skirt, pants and a bodice. At the moment I've drafted up a princess seam bodice and was thinking that I wanted to go all out and try to do pattern matching when I finally create a dress out of it.
Is it possible to completely pattern match princess seams, or will they get out of whack further up the curve?

Of course it depends on the shape and scale of your print, but I think you might be able to pattern match over a princess seam from the shoulder, but probably not from the arm hole. With an armhole princess seam, the the orientations of the dart legs are so different. But! you can add shirring to the long side of the seam above the bust to even out pattern repetitions and disguise any differences in line width approaching the seam.
