For now, 3, but I still miss some features from 2 and even 1 - starting from Hot Date, there was always a very nice food cart to add to community lots. I still miss the ice cream ones!
I gotta vote for The Sims 4 because it just works. I had so much trouble with the other games, with any computer - even really good / new ones. I was always sort of waiting for it to crash. On Sims 4 I can enjoy playing for as long as I want.
However, I miss the specific expansion Seasons on 2 and 3. LOVE seasons, sooo much. It really makes the game seem more "real" and "alive" when the seasons change.
My personal favourite is the Sims 4. I really enjoy the new emotions feature, and I don't really mind not being able to customize objects completely. The reduced lag is nice too.
3 is my favourite, I love how much detail I can put into the houses I build... I very rarely bother to make families to put into those houses.

2/. It just had the most features I want, and what it doesn't have, mods add.
I tried to get into 3, repeatedly, but it just didn't click. Tried 4 for a weekend, and never touched it again.
