I feel awful today but aced a phone screening which turned into a phone interview for a position... So we'll see where that goes.
I feel like hiding today. I'm suprised I'm even posting on Imzy to be honest.
Congrats on phone interview!
Totally unexpected. I applied to this company ages ago. I thought I'd been passed by already.
Today is a sunny day! I slept until 11:30am! My husband and I are going out for drinks with friends tonight to celebrate one of our friends' birthdays. For the first time in about a month I have felt positive. I'm going to hang out the laundry and then watch the latest episode of Victoria before getting ready to go out :D
I'm so happy you're feeling UP! :)
Me too! And Victoria is such a fantastic TV show, I adore it. Are you interested in costume dramas at all?
It depends. It helps if I don't know too much about the history and/or it's not all about who is screwing whom (literally, I mean) -- The Tudors was a no-go for me, Elizabeth the movie was gorgeous but made me laugh hysterically at the inaccuracies, etc..
But a good costume drama is ace, and the Victorian period is one of my favorites to watch play out so I shall have to look into this! Who are the stars?
There are naturally a few things that aren't entirely accurate - a couple of musical blips, some characters and opinions being portrayed differently in the drama vs. real life and so on - but they've actually worked really hard to be as faithful as possible with regards to both events and dialogue, quoting almost directly from Victoria's diaries and letters in places, for example. Queen Victoria is played by Jenna Louise Coleman, Tom Hughes takes the role of Prince Albert, and Lord Melbourne is acted by Rufus Sewell.
Honestly I was unexpectedly impressed by JLC's acting as Victoria, since I thought her main point was basic eyebrow-acting in Doctor Who but that appears to be less her fault and more the crappy role given her by Steven Moffat. I feel like Victoria, as a TV show, does a fairly good job of things. :)
Thank you! I will definitely check it out! Particularly as I rather grew to like Clara.
Hey, /color_red now exists! When will we get /color_chartreuse? :)
I love chartreuse so very specific.
Predictably, working. Wondering what the point of an ergonomic cubicle setup is if it drives me so buggy that within five minutes I've put it all back.
I was going to suggest a split keyboard but then started reading about how they're no longer recommended. Sigh.
*looks at ergo keyboard, which divides 6tgb from 7yhn by an inch or so*
Actually I just woke up from a 90 min "nap" -- uh oh!
I slept poorly last night and spent my day snoozing on the couch with a scratchy wool blanket over my head. So many damn nightmares.
I'm missing haiku at LGC because I'm too tired to count. Oh well.
I tired... It's barely acceptable.
