A Year in Review, and Feedback and Suggestions for 2017
Welcome to 2017!
It's been almost half a year since this community was created. In the spirit of the new year, I'd like to get your feedback on the state of this community, and what kinds of topics we should talk about moving forward.
Now with almost 1300 members, we're beginning to have a good number of contributors, though there could always be improvement in that area. I'm open to suggestions, feedback, and questions as to how to make this a vibrant place.
Also, shameless plug here, but I just started my personal community today, at /hanfei. Please join if you'd like to learn more about my life in general and my views on a variety of topics, not just societal issues related.

Happy New Year everyone. Looking back at the posts made in 2016, we had some really high quality discussions. Quite surprisingly, we had plenty of participation from outside the US and the Anglosphere. I think it would great to have more posts that bring in those international perspectives.
Certainly. That being said, nearly 70% of the membership is American, and most of the rest are in the Anglosphere. But I think in 2017 I will definitely focus some topics on continental Europe. France and Germany have elections, and the right-wing populist anti-immigrant forces are rising in power in both countries. That'll certainly be an interesting topic.
Yep. Here's hoping that EU voters will soundly reject the far-right parties at the polls in 2017.
