Listen for Babatu Olatunji on congas in this song. He was a Nigerian percussionist who imigrated to the United States in 1950. Olatunji was heavily involved in the American civil rights movement and helped spread traditional West African drumming in the United States.

A 6/8 bell rhythm (sometimes called '6/8 clave rhythm') is played throughout the second half of the song. The high bell sound in this video is playing a similar 6/8 bell rhythm.
