I'm still super new to spinning but so far I've had the best luck working with a live person.
Youtube was good for the basics, in person for the corrections and nit picky stuff was super awesome.
I had a little bit of both when I was first learning. I think I gleaned more general knowledge from watching A LOT of YouTube videos, but there are certainly some things that you can really only get (or at least get more easily) from an in-person experience and the conversations that come out of it.
