#300! How about a get to know you interview?
We've reached 300 members! There are so many of you and it's been a while since we had an interview questions post, so here's a brief one to get you started!
How many SPN Fics have you published so far? (give us a link to your works while you're at it)
We know you have a favorite. 'Fess up.
How much and what kind of planning do you do when you're writing a fic? does it depend on length? TELL US ABOUT YOUR PROCESS.
Are you a post as you go writer, or do you finish the whole thing and polish it up before publishing? Why do you do it that way?
What story do you wish someone else would write so you could read it?

ooh yes figure skating!!!
seconding the ice skating au.
41 published, all on AO3.
I change my mind about this all the time, but Once and Again currently reigns in my head.
This is ever-changing for me. For the fic I'm writing right now I wrote down the handful of scenes I knew I wanted, then mapped out where the two MCs need to be emotionally by the end of those scenes. Then I connected the emotional dots (like I need a scene here that gets character A to this point) but left most of the actual scenes unmapped. I know that's weird, but it has really helped the first draft process go smoothly for me. I struggle with putting emotions on paper.
I have been a post as I go writer, but I'm starting to lean toward finishing first. It's @clpolk's fault. I'm finishing a fic right now that will post in its entirety in February and it's been a very different process writing it in comparison to my post-as-I-go fics.
I need a good political destiel AU stat. I have an idea and a beginning of one, but every time I poke it I realize that I really really don't want to write it- I want to read it.
oh god someone please write this. west wing style or scandal style
or both
both
both is good
I've published a whopping 7, 6 of which are on AO3 and I'm somewhat ashamed of the seventh so we won't worry about that.
My favorite changes all the time, because every time I publish I feel like I know what I'm doing better. But despite some stylistic changes I'd make, I think my favorite is Key Harbor.
Most of my fics get a basic outline. If there isn't an outline, I get lost and stop. A few have had more. One or two one-shots have had less.
Both post as you go and finishing a project have merits. I'm enjoying doing Bang-style challenges and really getting a chance to grow as a writer (plus, art, YAY) but in between I like to post as I go for more immediate gratification.
There's an idea I'm debating on, it's basically all tropes - TFW at a ski lodge for a case, and Dean and Cas have to pretend to be a couple. The other couples are all very excited about the case, they talk about it almost all the time, but when Dean or Cas try to get info from them, they clam up. Sam won't let them leave the lodge to talk to the coronor or the sheriff. Everything's kind of fishy. Bed sharing. Possibly body-heat sharing. But there's a twist at the end that I'm leaving out in case I do decide to write it. (Unless someone asks to borrow this prompt, then I'd share.)
1) Seven. AO3 for the most part, there's a few on my tumblr
2) I'm super enjoying Dust in the Wind, but I think So He Stayed is better in terms of concept.
3) Totally depends on the length of the fic and what the plan is. The one shots don't get much planning other than double checking canon. Dust is pretty constrained by canon, but some planning happens. Sam Browning (unpublished) got a full outline, bullet points and everything.
4) I really admire folks who can post as they go, but that is totally not something I can do. There are entire chapters I've removed because a shorter version worked better in a different spot. Even with a full outline. I have an extensive plan, but there's room for improv. There has to be.
5) Wayward Daughters Leverage AU. I even laid it all out, but I have no desire to commit the work. I just want it to appear.
my favorite, honestly, is my DCBB White Albatross. But I have a special weakness for the Chowder House Rules - that was pure fun for me. It needs some editing but it was drawn from a lot of my past life as a restaurant manager and it's hilarious.
It depends. I actually printed out my DCBB for easier editing. But some of my weirder things and random obeshots are often written straight in a tumblr post. Fanfic is a playground for me, it often depends on how significant the fic is in particular - on a personal level.
This answer is almost the same as the previous. White Albatross went through a lot of work. The Chowder House Rules was an entire draft before the first chapter was posted, but never betaed or given a real shakedown. Project Deadheads, the trucker AU? I'm gonna have that betaed by at least two people before I dare to post. Fell Up, Threw Down was written in a haze of walking pneumonia, but there were a lot of scenes I deliberately removed in favor of the atmosphere - I was running straight for The Feel Of It. But my weird sci fi experiments are just thrown to the breeze.
There is not enough cyberpunk in this fandom. I have a weakness for trashy nineties cyberpunk. Where's the Johnny Mnemonic AU.
Also, I'm watching a certain ice skating anime and boy would I like that.
